Team Houston took out new member Gary G for some St Clair smallie action. It was predicted to be a sunny morning with light and variable winds. Those predictions held true for a beatiful Sat morning. We made our first casts at approximatly 6:30 and Gary put the first fish in the boat at about 6:40 The first hour and a half the fishing was hot with Redeye shads in sexy shad colors. For the heck of it I picked up the drop shot with a Jackel worm and started to catch a few on it. The light winds out of the Northwest Gradually started to turn out of the North then the East and by the time we left at noon was coming out of the Southeast. We ended up with 16 and a handful of others lost. Also one redeye shad was lost during the days action. The water temp were we fished (about 10 1/2 mile)(//) was 51 degrees. Water clarity was about 4 feet. The best depth was 7 to 8 feet. All the fish But one were good solid keepers up to 4 pounds. I did catch my first non keeper of the year. The few clouds that did show up were of the Stratus variety. Also we passed two swans in the canal. (Dan does want details)

What did the swans do?!? Need more!! ;D

I also took out new member Randy Smith today for his first time ever on LSC. We got to the launch at about 7:30 and headed towards the mile roads first. We caught 24 on tubes and lost a few others including a big sheephead, warming up for big ugly next week. We then headed up towards selfrige and ended up catching 10 more before we called it a day. Most of our fish were caught in 5-6 feet of water. Here's a couple of pic's of Randy with his first LSC smallies also the biggest 2 we caught 19 & 19 1/2

We also found better numbers and great sizes along the mile roads...although they seemed to be rather scattered.  Lipless cranks and tubes seemed to be the ticket.  ALSO found some pretty sweet bucketmouths up in the canals all the way up to 19"...and FAT!

Note...the 18" and 19" largemouths could NOT hold a candle to the fight in a much smaller smallmouth.
