Not a big deal for this topic, but since you are asking about a fishing product, I'll move it over to the products board. I don't believe I've ever used one of these specific reels but I do recall hearing others have.

In my opinion, if it says Quantum, you can't go wrong.  I have 10 of their reels, 3 of which are spinning reels.  I have had no problems with any of them.  1 of them, the Energy PT, is 6 or 7 years old now.

The Kinetic is a decent reel.  I have used a couple of them in the recent years and they seem to be decent.  I have not torn any apart for cleaning so I am not sure how much quality the internals are.  I did purchase a Catalyst in the spring.  At first I was about to trash it.  I took it out a few times and could not cast a 1 oz. jig 20 feet.  I tore it apart and greased it up and the thing was good to go.  Quantum reels are built to last.

I have a Quantum PT spinning reel that recently broke.  The anti-reverse on the rotor doesn't work anymore.  As long as I have my hand on the crank it's fine though.

One thing I should mention.  Quantum's customer service is superb.  A couple years ago the handle broke and after numerous attempts to purchase one on their website, the part was always out of stock.  I ended up emailing their support and after a couple of phone calls, they ended up shipping me a replacement (for free!).

I have had similar experiences at Ellipsis with Quantums.  I have had 5 of them and the 4 spinning reels all had the anti-reverse go on them and had to have them rebuilt within 2 years of owning them.  I wasn't happy with them.  When they were working they seemed like great reels though.  I really liked the titanium bails with the magnetic mechanism.  And they were quite smooth.

In contrast, I have a Pflueger spinning reel that I've had for 15 years which has never given me a single problem.  I also have 8 other Pflueger casting reels that I have never had a problem with either, most of them more than 10 years old.  I'm not cracking on Quantum, I'm just saying I haven't had good luck with them.  Hopefully I've just been unlucky and yours will hang on for many years.
