Got out to Thompson Lake in Howell yesterday for a couple of hours . Air temp was 43 when we got there at 10:00 am. Water temps ranged from 55 to 60. It was windy and rainy the whole time, in other words miserable, but you gotta get out when you can!
We only caught 1 bass, about a 14 incher, on a tube in 3 fow. We saw a few beds holding fish but could not get any strikes. The water was stained and with the wind and rain visibilty was low and we couldn't see the beds until we were right on top of them. We left at 12:30pm.
There was a paper tourny going on while we were there, I think it was a club called Bronzeback out of Jackson. We talked to 2 that had caught 2 fish each. Does anybody know someone in that club? I'm curious about the results.
I think the club was out of pinckmey, and I know one guy in the club. He had 4 fish for 8.5 lbs, and finished third. I'll try and get the final results if I can.
