Title: Need to replace my starting battery
Post by: JMoney on June 11, 2007, 11:50:52 AM
I need to replace my starting battery.  I have a 115hp Evinrude plus electrionics.  I was told that the current 24M-500 battery is probably too small for that motor.  He suggested a 650 or 800.  There are so many articles out there on batteries, but no two are the same.  Any suggestions on what to get?  Should I get a straight starting battery or a dual purpose battery?   Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Where are you located? I have a coupon for 100.00 off any battery at Prop and Sail, or Anglers Marine in Taylor. I will sell it for 65.00 bucks.

I'm in Grand Rapids, but thanks for the offer.  And I need to get one this week.  Right now I'm looking at the Interstate 24M-XHD.  If anybody knows any pros or cons, please let me know.

I bought a 24M-HD a few weeks ago. I've fished a couple 8 hour tourneys and everything ran fine. I have a 90 Merc with electronics and no problem so far.
