Title: Tipsico lake
Post by: motocross269 on September 04, 2007, 08:02:34 PM
I have a Team Bass tourney on Tipsico Lk this weekend.  Anyone have any advice for me??? I probably won't get much of a chance to pre-fish it, I just got super busy at work.  Docks, breaks , pads, lures????? Any advice would be great...Thanks

I have not fished Tipsico this year but last year a 5" Senko Black/Blue flake and a 3/8 oz. Jig, black with a black/blue flake Zoom Super Chunk Jr. were my best producers. Senko for numbers, jig for size. Fished on the deep side of the thickest weed beds I could find.

If I was going I would also throw a Spro frog. There was a good frog bite there last year.

Good luck.

Willie

Yes, it is obvious you have not been there this year.  The lake looks like there is more weed killing chemicals in it than water.

That is the same way Lakeville lake was last week...I thought something was wrong with my sonar because I wasn't showing anything on the bottom.  I went into shallow water and all of the weeds were dead.

This time of year I have had great success on tipsico fishing the large flat directly east of the boat ramp throwing rattle traps and shallow running cranks. Also fish the point that is on the east side of the lake right accross from the boat ramp. These 2 area's are were I typically fish all day during tournaments and have done real well.

Let us know how you do.

My best luck on Tipsico Lk. comes from a 10" power worm by Berkly in the tequila sunrise color. Or the 10" Culprit tequila shad color. 3/16 oz bullet head sinker and 5/0 red worm hook.
