Got out with a super nice brother from Arizona on Wednesday. The water was super calm and we got into a lot of rockies! Fishing some of the same stuff as last week but the bite was a little slower. However the quality of fish was pretty darn good when we did catch them. All in all we got around 15 or smallies and my friend caught two largemouth, one of which was quite nice. We got a lot of 3.5s and 4s with one nice 5lb monster caught on a...wait for it...Ned Rig. I gotta shout out to Hollada for showing me the Ned Rig and how to fish it.
Getting out again Friday morning to see what's up.
Great report. Any fish feeding on fish fly carcasses.
I'll post a couple pics on the next report but although I didn't see any bass feeding on fish flies, there were a couple of fly slicks up around Metro Beach. Down in the clearer water along the Mile Roads I didn't see very much fish fly activity yet. The hatch has begun so I'll have to tie on some Mayfly Patter Dropshot Tubes from Xtreme and some topwaters before I hit the water again.
You need to learn the Drop Shot Casted to the Boil trick. Cast to the boil and start reeling. They can't resist it.
or a spy bait :) :)
Ned rig sucks. Only works with frogs. Shhh
:) :) :) :) :) :) Stay home and watch Direct TV. Fishing is good but must have some wind, but not too much :) :) love the lake 8)
