A year ago, my father had cancer surgery on his face and neck. Got chemo and radiation at that time and everything cleared up. 3 weeks ago, he went to the doctor complaining of a sore neck. They took CAT scans, then MRI's and discovered a large tumor deep in his neck, next to his spine. Plans were made to treat this with chemo and radiation again. As a precaution, they wanted to do a full CAT scan of the upper body, to rule out any other involvement. The findings were not good. The cancer has moved into his lungs and liver. At this time, they are saying it is basically untreatable. They are going to do radiation, and he is on a chemo drug for at least two weeks. The drug cost him over $1400 for a two week supply. Thank God I have a wealthy sister who is more than willing to help out in that respect. I know there are many of you out there who have lost a parent. I could really use your support. I'm not taking this very well. Cant type any more right now. Sorry and Thanks

Mike - That's rough. Really sorry to hear about your father. Be strong buddy!
Sorry to hear that Mike. I lost my father earlier this year and it's not easy, let me know if you want anything. Maybe a little fishing and hanging out on the water will help? Let me know, I have Saturday off.

Mike,
So sorry to hear this troubling news. Many of us have lost parents and can really empathize with you. So we'll be praying and if there is anything I, my family, or my church can do to support you in this difficult time, please don't hesitate to ask.
Hang in there Mike.... prayers sent your way !!!!
Prayers sent my man. I lost my mother 5 years ago to the Big C, and my father currently has it also.
I can empathize, and sympathize.
When things get too hard to handle, hand them over to God. He will carry you through.
Prayers sent, Mike. May the Lord keep you both strong.

I want to thank all my friends on this site for your thoughts prayers and offers. I have received many messages and several phone calls from you. While I appreciate all of this, please understand that this is very difficult for me to talk about. Its bad enough with my children and siblings. I know you care. I can feel it. Please bear with me, I'll be able to talk to you soon.

Sorry to hear about your dad Mike. Prayers?... I'm on it!
You know guys, I have to say that it's really cool to see so many brothers here at GLB showing such caring support. That's what being part of the body of Christ is all about. It's so nice to see. I'm sure all those who have put up prayer requests really appreciate the huge show of support. I'm proud to be part of this board.

hey mike, i don't like cancer, my brother had lukemia back in 94 and i was the blood marrow donor for him. he's still alive but lost my dad almost 2 years ago next month to stomach cancer. he lived long enough to get back in a personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour so i'll see him again. got to take him fishing the year before and we had a good time on the water. God won't let you go through this alone..karol
