I was happy to see Shaw win it. It was nice to see one of the "old guard" kick butt and take names, even though I did not have him on my team.

Shaw got it done, his knowledge and experience is what made the difference.  What Goldbeck did on day one was a big mistake, you can't expect to win an elite event after an mistake like that.  He was lucky to get 2nd after that bad decision.

I know on day 3 he shook off a 7-8 plunder trying to catch a 12-14 pounder on a bed!
He might be regretting that....

Not sure if you can get it but after the trophy presentation his wife and son came up.  His son must be about 6.  The MC asked him to say " Big ole pig "   the kid nailed it.

Some day Internet live video fishing may replace couch tv fishing.

If it does, I hope I have it!!

Shaw is very nice. Very friendly and open. At the moment, he and his son are scheduled to be on the 2nd week of our January 2012 peacock bass trip. That adds to the fun. And there's a rumor... just a quiet hint of it... that another angler might come add to the fun. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag, jinx it, give away a secret maybe I'm not supposed to, make stuff up, etc, etc so I won't say his name. But his first initial is Z.

Can you imagine the fun there! Either way, I hope Shaw can make it because that will make the round the table dinner discussions that much more interesting! Congratulations Shaw.
