??? ???if i fish the lake erie flw on the non boater side do i have 2 have 3 fishing license's or 4. MICHIGAN/CANADIAN/OHIO???/WALPOLE?????? WILL THEY BE CHECKING FOR ALL OF THESE?????ANYONE KNOW??ANYONE ELSE THINKING of fishing this or better yet has anybody ever signed up for an FLW before i never have???
I don't know if they check for the licenses at the meeting, although I'd heard they had started to at the Stren adn above - I haven't fished any of those in a while.
You could easily be fishing the first 3 during the day on Erie. Many people won't get the Walpole, but if you draw someone running to St. Clair, you may find yourself fishing without a license or not fishing for part of the day. That is the time of year the Walpole fishing starts heating up.
It's an added expense, but personally, I think it is reasonable insurance to keep one from having to break the law, risking more than just a tournament weight, or lose part of a fishing day to save a few bucks in an event with a good deal of money already invested and potentially available to win.
On my confirmation, it states that Michigan, and Canada are required licenses, but you would be crazy not to have your Ohio, and Walpole.

Excuse me for being ignorant but what's a Walpole?
Walpole is an island on the canadian side of LSC just east of the Shipping Channel. It is an American Indian reservation and requires a permit to be within its boundries while fishing.

Walpole is an Canadian Indian Reservation island on the St. Clair River and Lk. St. Clair. I don't know why the tournament directors don't put in the rules to have these licenses because it can cause a lot of problems if you get caught fishing. They can take take the boaters boat for bringing you on the res. and fishing w/out a license. Buy the licenses you won't have to look over your shoulder when you should be fishing. FLW boys don't mind long runs so Ohio is always in the mix also.

I'll give you a call today (fri), and explain the process to you. Glad to hear you enjoyed the boat, and a big "I TOLD YOU SO" on that Yammie.
