WASHINGTON -- Sea level has been rising significantly over the past century of global warming, according to a study that offers the most detailed look yet at the changes in ocean levels during the last 2,100 years. The researchers found that since the late 19th century – as the world became industrialized – sea level has risen more than 2 millimeters per year, on average. That's a bit less than one-tenth of an inch, but it adds up over time.

The NYS DEC is considering possible regulation changes to increase catch and release bass fishing opportunities. As you should know it has been an extremely long process to get to where we are with the current regulations. And by all accounts bass anglers have thoroughly enjoyed the increased opportunities and bass populations have been sustainable.

LANSING — Children under 10 would be allowed to hunt as long as they’re with an adult mentor through legislation that has passed the Michigan House.

OKAUCHEE, Wis. — Wisconsin has joined the rest of the United States in permitting the practice of “culling” bass. Gov. Scott Walker signed the Wisconsin “culling bill” into law during ceremonies at the Golden Mast Inn Restaurant, located on the shores of Okauchee Lake, one of Wisconsin’s most popular bass tournament lakes.

Bill to Allow Culling in State of Wisconsin
Wednesday, March 30, 2011 a very important hearing was held in the Wisconsin State Capitol that impacts the sport of competitive bass fishing. Several different sportsmen’s groups attended to testify concerning Assembly Bill AB35. This bill, as written, would permit culling in Bass tournaments in the state of Wisconsin. As all of us anglers know, this is a significant part of competitive bass fishing and tournament bass anglers are largely the only ones following the law due to tournament rules which require them to do so.
