Not too late to get in some BIG bass fishing on famous Lake El Salto

As you may or may not know, we close our fishing operation on Lake Comedero every May 1st just prior to the heavy monsoon rains (June - Sept). However, we leave our fishing operation on Lake El Salto (at the foothills of the Sierras and just below Comedero) open as it does not receive as much rainfall during the summer months.

Well, friends...the fishing in El Salto is simply unbelievable right now. Actually it's been fantastic all year but right now might be the best fishing we've seen on this lake.

Here are some numbers for a group of 19 anglers from Arkansas that just returned from fishing El Salto on June 4, 5 and 6, 2009

Total bass of 7 lbs - 13 lbs in 3 days of fishing: 47
Total bass per boat (2 anglers) avg. per day: 50 - 60

Day 1 / June 4th:

5 bass 7 lbs+
5 bass 9 lbs+
1 bass 10 lbs+
1 bass 13 lbs+

Best lures on Day 1:  Zoom 8" Mag Lizard (watermelon w/chart tail), Swimbait, 1/2 oz chartreuse-white spinnerbait

Day 2 / June 5th:

5 bass 7 lbs+
5 bass 8 lbs+
4 bass 9 lbs+
1 bass 10 lbs+

Best lures on Day 2:  Zoom 8" Mag Lizard (same color as Day 1), crankbaits (citrus color), Jigs (camo color), buzz bait

Day 3 / June 6th:

5 bass 7 lbs+
5 bass 8 lbs+
8 bass 9 lbs+
2 bass 10 lbs+

Best lures on Day 3:  Zoom 8" Mag Lizard (same color), crankbaits (citrus), Jigs (camo color), buzz bait

As you can see, these are outstanding numbers on size with the average on total numbers per boat/per day being below the season average of 70-80.

Also, for those wondering about all the "negative" info reports on Mexico, well...it's been business as usual at our fishing operations as well as in Mazatlan, our gateway city to El Salto & Comedero. NO PROBLEMS!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
