Portage lake onekama smallies

Going to Portage Lake in August with my family and was wondering if anyone had any tips on where to fish for some good smallmouth action? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

August might be a little challenging for smallies there. I can't say for sure as I haven't fished the lake in a looonnng time. Any time you're visiting one of the drowned river mouth lakes off of Lake Michigan I always check the channel to Lake Michigan. Often a key area depending on the movement of the water.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
