I took my friend Tim on a guided paddle boat trip to Commerce Lake where we found a nice school of smallmouth🎣😊. One was pushing 6 pounds. Biggest inland lake smallie I have ever seen.

Union Lake was busy today.  Worked on boat hoists and docks most of the day.  Lots of bass boats out there.  Took my aluminum boat out and caught some on blades.  Fish are grouped up.  Water has 20 foot visibility so you can see them cruising.  Also saw lots of walleye swimming around.

I went locally (Lansing) on Friday the 5th. Caught a decent number of varied size largemouth, though no whoppers. Caught 1 big crappie and missed another before I lost the school (they were moving fast). Caught a fairly large pike (unfortunately). Think I had another pike on but didn't hook it, and didn't get bit off.

Been fishing a couple times since to the same lake. Fishing was good the next time out, but slow and tough the 2nd time out. I will blame the weather. Fishing should be getting really good from this point out. As long as winter leaves for good finally? And, it would be nice if this wind would go somewhere else... maybe the Plains...

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
