Whats up with the Kalamazoo Kid  he is smoking. Do you think he can pull it off? I'm rooting for him.
Remember you don't quit fishing when you get old, you get old when you quit fishing

ronhuntfish

That would be cool.
It's going to be tough to pull it off, but not impossible.

He's going to need atleast a 30lb sack and hope alot of guys do bad.  But atleast he made the cut and still has a chance at some good money.

NOBODY holds a crowd and gets the respect KVD does, hands down.  As they mentioned in another post about how unexcited Luke Clausen seemed, he could have down 10 back flips and still not excited the crowd like Kevin did.  KVD said Sunday morning at the ramp he needed over 30lbs and as crazy as it sounded with the rain, wind, and lightning, no one doubted he could get it done.

With all this focus on poor sportsmanship at the Classic, we always tend to overlook the good sportsmanship...

Did anyone catch what KVD said about his day of fishing on Sunday?  He said he went to his first area in the morning and saw Scroggins working it, and because he (Scroggins) was in the running for the title, KVD left the area and went to another...That my friends is what we should be focusing on.  That is a prime example of good sportsmanship, respect for others, ethics, etc. etc.  With $500,000 on the line and a chance to make history (4 tourney wins in a row) KVD leaves his first area because someone with a chance to win the Classic is there (and mind you, we all know how KVD finished...he was never out of this tourney)...wow...

More on sportsmanship and respect....  Day 2 Jay Yelas went to a spot he knew of and Randy Howell was fishing there, Randy had caught 7 keeper fish in this area, Jay and Randy talked for a bit but Jay moved on.  Later in the day Jay needed to find some bigger fish as but as he went back by that spot, he decided not to even fish it but try brand new water because he knew Randy had fish there, even though Randy had abandoned the spot and wasn't going to make the Day 3 cut.  For the most part all of these guys are really great down to earth guys, their celebrity status sometimes overshadows the fact that they are just normal guys fortunate enough to be doing what they love.

Terry Scroggins told me the Classic isn't any different than fishing back home, the stakes are just a little bigger..  simplified situation.

I couldn't agree with you guys more.  Hats off to VanDam and Yelas and all the other competitors who value each other and being a good person more than the $$.  Yes, that's exactly how it should be all the time.
