Just wondering peoples thoughts on this motor. It will be a 2017 200 hp

I haven't dealt with them in recent years but when they first came out I tested some out. HUGE motors that weighed much more than comparable HP motors. Tend to make a bass boat stern sit very low in the water...

They are quiet and supposedly good on gas and oil use, though you have to do an occasional oil change if I remember right. When I test drove them I found them slow to accelerate and a strange thing happened when I backed off a little bit in turns, the tighter the turn the farther the motor would fall off. It was an odd feeling because it felt like you were going to come off plane and have to replane...??

It is possible they are much different now since it has been over 10 years since I drove them much. I would suggest checking into how expensive maintenance and repair might be since they are a more complex motor.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I thought they weighed alot more too. 5 lbs more.

From what I've seen lately, they do appear to be much smaller now than they used to be so maybe everything I experienced no longer applies. When they first came out, they were behemoths weighing quite a bit more than other same HP outboards.

I dont think you will be sorry for going with the Verado. I went from a 225 Optimax to a 300 Pro Verado and I'm very happy with it.

From what I've read and people I've talked to.  The two things I hear most is they don't like the cold and their more expensive to fix, parts wise. Other than that decent motors
