Humminbird 798ci si
« on: February 28, 2013, 05:53:09 PM »

I bought this unit about two years ago and I have had problems since.  when using the side imaging I am only able to see one side the other side is completely black.  This is the second time it has happened is there anything I can do to have this working again.  I know I have it in the right place because when I replaced the first transducer with the second (when it was under warranty) the second worked fine for season but now it isn't.  I called Humminbird and they told me they couldn't do anything for me as my unit is no longer under warranty.  For a 1k unit I would think they would make these better.  I don't think I will ever buy humminbird again.

Every brand has some problems with a unit once in a while. Doesn't make the entire brand bad. Maybe they won't do anything for free because it's not under warranty, but I know you can get it repaired. Humminbird in my opinion has the best customer service around.
