Good time of year to review your marine insurance

This is a good time of year to review your marine insurance and make sure you are getting the best coverage for your situation; that you are truly covered at a replacement level that will get you back on the water if you have a significant loss; and that you are paying the best price for that coverage.

There are discounts available that some marine insurance companies/agents never tell you about.

There are also 'catches' that may be inadvertant, but regardless, could leave you suffering a significant hardship after a loss if you don't know about them.

Possible concern areas are no coverage for coastal waters (usually includes the Great Lakes); limited coverage for non-permanent items on/in your boat that won't replace all your electronics and fishing gear after a loss - often a default amount with the base coverage - is too low to replace even your tackle/rods/reels; possibility of having coverage denied because of tournament participation; and others that I will try to cover later.

Luckily - and I mean this ardently - we have possibly the best resource in the marine insurance business available to us here on GreatLakesBass.com in marine insurance specialist - Bob Luellen of Worldwide Marine Underwriters. Bob is the top guy in performance boat insurance coverage and an angler who fishes tournaments, so he understands our world, our needs and our challenges.

He is ALWAYS willing to discuss your situation and see if you are truly covered to the level you need to be, at the best price. You can call him anytime during business hours at 800-339-1235 or check out WWM on the web at www.worldwidemarineins.com

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
