So time has been flying.  This last month has been busy with a little bit of fishing.  I haven't had a lot of time to post, sorry!  But here goes...

All of these fish came off of the Menominee River some at the mouth, the rest between the 2nd & 3rd dam up river, and some above the 3rd dam.

I decided to be a bass ninja with my 3 year old one day.

Another day with my midget

I actually can catch green backs if I want..Go for the thick stuff and go slow...

I had a small tourney on this evening and my partner and I were dink dropping 3 1/2 pounders.  I wasn't smiling because there was a 6lbs smallie that beat me out for big fish. My biggest was only 5lbs 2 oz. Still a good day.  :)

This was a good day, I was able to take my uncle fishing. I haven't fished with him in years and he and my father got me hooked.

Other than the large mouths most of these smallies were taken in 1-5 feet of water throwing a 1/2 to 3/4 oz spinner bait.  Most of them caught on a Willow/Colorado combo.  With a few Texas rigged plastics thrown in there.  Sorry for the long post.  Enjoy!

Hey Mike great post....I was up in escanaba over july 4 weekend and fished the escanaba river with some nice results above the first dam....did not know about the menomenie river...would you say one river is better than the other?

I am partial to the Menominee, but that is because I live 6 miles from it.  I have not fished the Escanaba in several years, My brother fishes it exclusively for trout way up river.

If you ever get the itch to try the Menominee pm me.  It isn't that hard to twist my arm, I would gladly show you some spots.

Actually the fishing has been difficult this year.  But the last 4-5 weeks has been on fire.  Most of my fishing is on the mouth of the Menominee.  But, I do fish other portions of the river too.

Let me know.

Nothing wrong catching up with long report. Way better than no report!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
