Title: help, i need a lifting lug
Post by: bob o on April 10, 2011, 09:16:50 AM
i need a lifting lug for my 1995 200hp evenrude. i need to lift the motor so i can turn my jackplate around, it seems like back in 1995 the dunce that installed it put it on backwards keeping me from jacking the motor up to the proper height.

Estimate the diameter and threads per inch. Go to the hardware store and get 3 metric and 3 standard thread lugs that are the closest to your estimate. I would think that would get you the right one, if someone here can't tell you the right one.

Make sure they are rated for the weight of your motor.

If your local hardware store doesn't carry them there is/used to be a Graingers around 10 and Haggerty. I would think they would have them for sure. You could check at graingers.com.

Maybe your local marina could tell you which one you need.

Good luck.
