i've had this rod for 20yrs+ it's a berkley series one blank. i kept the fighting butt and used the orginal for grip rof the new rear grip. the origanal guides and reel seat were cut off and trashed the guides were fixed a few tines as well as the reel seat. the reel seat was cracked so bad i'm sure it would explode soon so the rod was shelved until last week, when the blank was sanded and fitted with a new forcast reel seat and a new set of micro guides and what a better reel to set it off with the new reborn lews speed spool.

new retro rod for a new retro reel. I like it. nice work.
thanks, i got to use it last tuesday and got a small LM 1 1/2lbs on a retro bait, a 7" culpert worm blue/black. this reel is super smooth and the rod is just as i remembered, light and quick
It looks comfortable. I have to modify some of my rods, but I am a little gun shy to start breaking them down.
Very nice
