i've got a new set of leaf springs for the trailer to install, i have a garmin 430s to put on the console move the old console unit to the bow, sell the old bow unit, i have two rod blanks in the basement waiting to be built (not looking good on the rod projects) ummm lets see might close (june 1st) on a new to us house if the bank excepts our offer (short sale). time is running out, i need more time darnit more time.
bob
More time until opening day?! I highly disagree.
buy/install new trolling motor. finish console project on boat, redo seats on boat, finish a bunch of rods, tie some jigs, organize tackle, clean out boat.
i'll be busy until its time to put the thing back in storage.....

lol, i almost spit up on my keyboard
sad thing is, its no joke! what a vicious cycle.....
Install a new graph at console, re-spool reels, a quick clean-up of the boat and I'm ready! Did the hard stuff before "putting her to sleep for the winter."
I have to pay off the credit card bill for the nearly 900 bucks I have spent on fishing gear this month.
Need to send in the (2) Diawa reels to get the flipping bars fixed
Install the wiring to put a screen up front.
And I'm pouring my own Senko's this year (can't buy what I what)
So I need to get that all figured out by then.
Other then that
I'll be Walleye fishing mid March or so
So the boat and trailer will be in good shape come bass fishing
Swap a few boxes and change the rods in the boat and I'll be good
I need to help fasttrack install his new graph. I need to buy line and re-spool before the end of the month. I have at least 3 rods to build and I would like to get 5 done...so I guess I better get started on that. I have to sort my tackle and replace what I've run out of like hooks, weights or plastics etc. I need to sell some a bunch of Curados and a couple of Sahara reels and replace them with something else. I would like to purchase and install a new graph unit for the bow of my boat but we will see if I get to that.
Oh yeah...I NEED to paint my bedroom before the season starts or I won't be allowed to sleep there anymore! ;D

I'll be happy to help you too. I didn't think you needed any. Let me know when you are ready.

Cy & Mike, my dad says he has plenty of epoxy we can use. (He just finished building a wooden boat - board by board, designed it himself, got some specialized wood from Africa or somewhere and cut it strip by strip. Then built a motor that would make any car buff druel. He expects it to top 100mph. I'll get some pictures one of these days. It will be at the upcoming boat show downtown too if you happen to get there).
I need to learn how to fish..... ::)
Install new transducer on trolling motor. Buy and install new cables for throttle and gearing. Buy seats from Terry Melvin that he has that will fit my boat and install them. Terry had the same boat years ago but not my boat. Get all licenses, launch passes, etc. Repair trailer lights that are inoperable. So many other things too numerous to list.
BD ;D
I am having bait storage problems. Out of the boat anyway. Thinking about buying some pegboard and hanging all my worms, hooks, baits, exc. like a store display in the garage. Been buying something every week all winter and its in a pile :(. I wont need everything in the boat at all times. I also think it would be nice to select my baits before I go fishing. Does anyone have good storage ideas for that stuff?

That sounds like a very interesting story including pictures?!?
Lets see....
Need to paint and finish about 40 spinnerbaits I poured, re spool 10 rods, buy three fishing licenses, would like to pour some weighted tube hooks, buy a new landing net....
And, oh yeah....
PICK UP MY NEW 2010 SKEETER ZX200!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
I have never been so anxious to get this season started.
Go through my gear, Get my Curados cleaned, DOWNSIZE my tackle, Pull my four bank charger and send it back to CSI. Oh yeah... find a new truck to tow my babygirl to the lake!!! ;D
Like many of my posts this would be long, drawn out, and full of useful non-sense. So I will simply say way too much; but isn't that why it's so fun??
Bob O - I can relate; except I usually go over the keyboard and right onto the screen! There should be a forum called "spitters and splitters" for classics like that one. :D

Starting to get things checked off the list.
1. Take all tackle out of boat and go thru it.
2. Clean all rods and reels.
3. Purchase new fishing line.
4. Purchase special custom baits from GLB members
5. Order new passenger seat cushion for boat
6. Drop off Yammy prop to get refinished and balanced
7. Purchase replacement tackle
left to do when weather pemits
1. Replace battery trays and remount 4 bank charger
2. Clean bilge
3. Replace pump heads where needed
4. Detail detail detail
hope the ice melts. right now there is a 4wd truck plowing a skating rink 2 doors down from my house. guess the ice is still safe...
I have a bigger problem than all of you....until I finish the basement remod, I am currently working on, I an not even allowed in the garage.
Sounds like you should start asking for help too, JC
<------ Gotta buy a newer boat!
Searching for a boat is a serious addiction! :P

that almost sounded like you were volunteering??? How are you at drywall??? ??? ???
Make more Jigs and add another long beard to my already collection. Gobble Gobble!!!!!!
Nothing better than turkey hunting in the morning, Bass fishing in the afternoon, and then back hunting to finish the day!! Wooo whoooooo!!!! ;D
(http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/rr230/Lip_Ripper/File0023.jpg)
JC, this sounds like something that could be hammered out in a weekend with the right crew and the right amount of beer.
McCarter himself :-\'
or Jim Beam i if remember correctly.
On top of all the other BS i have/had to do - now i've a got a hot foot and pro-trim switch to install. need to "modify" my crappy seats by taking the bench seat, making it into 2 bucket seats and adding a step in the middle. Need to install the new trolling motor too. Oh and need to remove the ECU from my 135 opti and send it to california - when it comes back it will be a 175 :o. Then i gotta replace a prop, find & install a 6" jack plate, change the lower unit fluid (didn't winterize the boat this year) and also take apart the air intake to remove the hunk of steel thats keepin my girl from breathin!
These I will do:
Replace both livewell pumps.
Install Hotfoot.
Tear out front deck extension and build/install a storage compartment and a step/cooler.
Find/install a windshield.
Buff the top cap.
Pour some more baits/jigs.
Re-spool.
These I would REALLY like to do:
Buy/install 2 new Humminbirds.
Buy new rims for the trailer.
Buy/install new skins for the seats.
Buy/install retractable tie down ratchets.
Only 52 days left, I must be outta my mind!
Willie

Looks like my drywall crew is coming together nicely....Mike is in, Brian is in and Justin is in....sweet
P.S. You remember correctly my man...JB it is, but JD will also do just fine
I now have to put my entire boat back together. The Bass Tracker was not meant to be driven, or flown, the way mine does. Let's just say that the guy doing the welding is pretty darn busy. Hopefully, he gets it done so I can get her ready to go. I can't wait to only have 1 livewell, not having the entire boat to use as one. ;D
All i need is to order new line. And re-deck and carpet the boat. Oh, and buy 2 new seats. That should do it....
well i guess i am a few up on some of you....tackle is sorted rods are all cleaned and reels are ready except for new line...boat is washed and waxed and waxed and waxed again....just need to charge batteries put grease in lower unit and go to the lake....where is the ice be gone at....
i bought my line but everything else still needs to be done, at least the daylight is staying around a little longer.
Man, what would you guys do if you lived in a state that allowed us to fish more than 5 or so months out of the year? :D
I am ready to go!! If weather is decent, I am thinking a weekend run down to KY lake March 20 or March 27....
I"m up for a day run to Indiana the first week in April.
I should be fishing in Indiana this weekend on the maggies stretch or another small lake that is real close to open. Next week I am hoping Maxi or wawasee will be open but that might not happen, last I heard the ice was 10" thick.

It's amazing what rain will do to ice. It won't be long!
I have replaced hooks and o-rings, resorted boxes (which are staked up to my waist), uploaded updates for my side-imaging, cleaned my boat, and rearranged the shelves in the basement where I keep my extra lures, rods, locators, etc. The only things I have left to do are re-line my poles, replace a recirc pump in a livewell, and put in my new Deka Sea Mates (They are group 31s and wont fit in the trays so anyone have suggestions? I was thinking just cut out the back of the tray and have three sides left and the strap to hold it in place.)
well i got my new leaf springs on the trailer, bumped up the trailer at least an inch now the right side tire won't rub the fender. got the new line on the reels, i'm getting closer and closer to being ready to tow the boat any place i want and start casting.
I gotta respool, grease and oil but that's it.
Unless you count finding a new/used boat.

new or used it will give you more to do, let's see winterizing, prop work, wheel bearings, tires/pressure, depth finders. gps units, just cleaning the carpet can take an hour or two the list will grow i'm sure

How's the search coming, Rick?
I guess go get my trailer weighed because I can't get it registered unless I weigh it since I bought it from IN. They want me to take the boat off and weigh just the trailer. >:( I'm going to weigh everything and hope that they take it and it's under 2500 lbs. Got to love MI :o
take your indiana registration slip, scan it. Erase the weight category (in IN its class 1,2,3 etc). Type in 900lbs and print it off.
worked for... someone i know...... ;)
Basement Remod Update:
1st of 3 rooms (Laundry room) almost finished, just painted a coat of primer. Hopefully painting and installing floor tile this weekend, then the real work begins...the bathroom and hair salon. I may be running a bit behind, but with the drywall crew of Brian, Justin and Mike, I should make up some time.... ;D
Yeah you'll make up some time on throwing back those brown pops.

my single axle basscat trailer is regestered at 500lbs. does the manufacture of your trailer still exist? if so contact them maybe they can give you the actual weight.
You got it Mike...Foldiers OK?
Did a little bit every day. Now all I have to do is start it in the driveway. Doing that this coming Friday. Should be fishing for Walleye in the Trenton Channel on Saturday.

Please stop, don't tourture me any more....I am 10 minutes away from the river and I cannot fish until basement is complete...no walleye for me this year :(
i don't know who threw my name in the hat for drywall work... i can/have done most everything but drywall is something i will just pay someone else to do! managing a drywall crew on the other hand... i can do that.
I'm ready, Got two new tires for the trailer, charged both batteries, put new wheel on jack and got line on and boat even has fresh gas. Come on warm whether!
Let's see...
Reels cleaned...nope.
New line...nope.
Rods and guides checked...nope.
Tackle sorted...nope.
I guess I have a little bit of work to do...lol.
DONE!

Just call the trailer manufacture, they can send you email/fax with the weight. My tandem Ranger Trail is 1300 lbs. Entire boat/motor/trailer is just under 5000 lbs loaded.
I still have to put the line on my reels, but that shouldn't take long right? I mean, how many rods and reels can one person have anyway?
I did get new batteries and got them installed last night, so that was one more thing off the list. However, when I got my boat out of storage, I found my ground wire for my trailer lights broke, so I have to fix that.
Oh and I realized a week ago that instead of buying rod covers to keep my rods untangled in the rod locker, I could just make my own. One week later, I only have 3 done have nine to go...Sheesh, it never ends.
I wasnt going to post on here. Figured I had too much to do and nobody cared. It just hit me how late I'm actually running this year. This is my first spring actually having all this stuff to do. Maybe if I post it all here, it will help me get more organized. Here is what I have left to do. Tow vehicle: new brakes and caliper, new exhaust, renew license plates LOL. Thats all before I can even get the boat home. Boat: install new stereo, but and install additional sonar/GPS, clean, buy and install 2 new batteries, get insurance, buy fire extinguisher, get 2 new life jackets, grease trailer bearings. The only thing I'm pretty ok with is actual fishing gear. I still need to get myself a casting rod, and a spinning rod for Veronica, but we could fish with what we have. Spool a couple more reels, and always buy more lures LOL. Oh, and buy all my park and ramp passes. I think I need to start playing the lottery, maybe I can win some money.
Somebody better get going.
I still need to install the kegerator on my boat............. ;D
Ummmmmm........What is a kegerator? ???

I tried making my own rod socks, it was just easier spending $4 for BPS ones. They work pretty good in a cramped rod box.
