Yesterday, my son, while working on a two story roof fell to the ground and was rendered unconscious. Particulars are sketchy, since nobody saw him fall, and he has amnesia about the incident. He got up, and staggered into the house where his co-worker was, who then called for help.
He was taken by ambulance to U of M. Where he spent the next 24 hours. While he was in the emergency room, I prayed for him. I called my family and set up a prayer request line. We all prayed for him. The Deacon from my wife's work, and my immediate family prayed over my son while the the priest on call performed the sacrament to heal the sick. Sometime later, the Deacon told us in the waiting room that we were witnessing a miracle beginning to unfold. He told us that he had worked in hospital ministry for 19 years. He said that he had witnessed many falls like my son's and had never seen happen, what we were witnessing happen.
Ryan had begun to improve. He was more coherent, and less dazed. His breathing was no longer difficult. He had feeling in all of his extremities. CT scans, and X rays were proving that he was going to be ok.
Ryan continued to improve through out the night, and early this morning. This afternoon, he walked out of the hospital with a slight concussion, no broken bones, a small cut on the back of his head, and not one bruise on his body. He is fortunate enough to only have a few sore muscles, and a headache.
In the course of these last 24 hours, each of the hospital staff people we talked to could only shake their head in disbelief. Not one could not understand his good fortune. We kept hearing that people just don't suffer a 20 foot fall onto concrete and walk away unscathed. And yet he did.
Christmas miracle?
I believe so.
Thank you for sharing some great news with us fiker. I'm very glad your son is doing so well after such a scare.
They do happen. There is proof in our everyday life, but sometimes they just reach out and glare at us. Wonderful news for the season, and for every day. Give him a hug from GLB.
Great news Rick. Merry Christmas!

Thanks for sharing Rick. Praise! Prayers for a continued recovery.
Wow. God does indeed work in mysterious ways at precarious times. Our prayers on the way for continued good reports. Happy holidays all from our family to yours.
Definitely a Christmas miracle! There isn't anyone I know that has power over the laws of gravity except the One who created it.
The power of prayer can be amazing......I am glad to hear that your son is doing OK..
Sounds like one to me! That's awesome. There will always be naysayers, but this is one of those moments where people of faith find much inspiration. Thank God for His amazing grace. Prayer works.
