A friend of mine went there last week-end and he said the fish were still shallow. He didn't give any specific areas though.

I can offer some help with the sheephead there, that's about all we found Sunday but I don't think that's what you're looking for... sorry.

All I know is the bass weren't as deep as expected yet but that info is 5 days old.

Strat,

Ask nice and "B" might give-up his famous bullhead rockpile and the secret weapon to catch 'em!  You won't win a tourney but will have some serious good eats!

If you are going Saturday, obviously the weather is a concern but there is also a Regatta running from the mouth of the Detroit on out and around the island: http://www.pelee.org/i?page=events&id=1246559935&sid=E11247154258Z0

I'll be heading out there Saturday as well,I've never fished around there before.I hope I can locate the smallies,as I'll be fishing in a tournament.I've found a little info here and there about where to look, but so far nothing solid, guess I'll just have to sort through the sheepies until I come up with something.

You might want to check around the Hen on your way to Pelee. There's usually good fish there. Try the SE corner first.

Which one is Hen? The only two I know of are Middle and Pelee. When I'm up that way,I'm coming across the lake on the east side of Kelley's and I can see Pelee and Middle but no others.

Take a look at your map Hen is a much smaller Island and looks to be about 5 miles north of North Bass Island.

If you havent consulted a map and are going by sight, you are asking for pain out on Erie around the Islands.

Bottom line, study a map thoroughly.

I know all the islands on the American side real well,as well as Pelee and Middle.I can't find any maps on-line that show the locations of the Canadian Islands, just pretty much Pelee.I'm not concerned as far as finding it once I'm up that way,I have hot maps 2009 on two of my units that will show the location of Hen Island.I was just wanting to check it out on a map before I head up there tomorrow. Thanks for all the help,I appreciate it.

Thanks lot guys,

Really didn't find great stuff out at Peelee but I found something that they call sheephead what A waste of space in the lake.

Middle was something that I spent a lot of time on and it really paid off for me.

Thanks again guys,
Britt

Hoping to draw Britt and get on the bite! Should be a good tournament and the weather is looking good so far. Hope the wind cooperates!

If you draw Britt, make sure you check his drain plug before he puts the boat in the water...unless you want to see him in his skivvies.....   :o :o :P

Hey Mr. Valentine,

Just make sure that your Mercury gets you out to your fish and back in time to weigh em in.

Drain plug easy fix
Changing Motors Before tourney day not so easy
Britt Beating Seth V on tourney Day Priceless

Yamaha Most reliable on the Water

Seth Get A Yammie then we can talk

Later buddy hope you can take it since you can dish it out

I fished quite a bit of that area on Monday,it took a little while sorting through all the great looking reefs and humps on my electronics.Once I found what I was looking for I started off fishing with a tube and connected on a couple pretty nice smallies. The bass didn't seem to be very aggressive at all that day,I had no luck at all with drop-shot rigs, seemed like they wanted tubes only, dragged real slow along the bottom.I ended up catching 8 bass, all would've kept. The water was really clear,at least compared to the water nearer the American mainland. There wasn't any wave action out there either which was nice considering what it has been like lately.BTW,my Mercury got me from Mazurik's and back very nicely-lol!
