April 28-29th in Mountain Home, Ar. Lake Norfork. I am heading down on the 21st for a weeks worth of fishing. I will probably get to spend some time on Bull Shoals as well. Any tips would be appreciated.
This will be my third year of fishing the BassCat owners tournament. I have never had much success but I always leave there thinking I have figured some things out for next year. THe first year, the lake was 12ft above normal pool and there was flooded brush and trees every where. One of those situations that there is soooo much cover, where do you begin. When I left I thought next year would be different - I would know where to look for the better fish. Then the next year came, the lake was at normal pool and there is no cover. Just rock, gravel, sand(no weeds down there). The lake fished nothing like the previous year or anything like what I have fished before, but after the tournament I thought I figured some things out and thought next year would be different!
Well, it's next year now and the lake is 12 ft below normal pool, so who knows how it will fish this year. Of course the lake can rise 10ft in 24hrs if they get a bunch of rain. But I am giving myself a full 5 days to figure thngs out before the tournament, so hopefully I will have a chance at winning the new BassCat PUMA w 225 ProXS!

I'm not sure about opening day yet but the next day I will be fishing in the Oakland Bassmasters Open on Kent Lake with my son-in-law.
Stackenem, is the Nepessing tourny an ABA event? If so, I may be there instead of Kent. I am going to try to fish ABA this year as well as the club that I belong to.

I'll be on Orchard for a club event for the opener. Usually, I'm on Pontiac, but now that other lakes are open, I'm trying something different this year.

Yes the Nepessing tourney is aba. That will be the first aba for me.

I will be there, but I think it is on May 7th and LSC is on May 20th. Kent is District 7. Lake St. Clair is District 69.

What the??? PoorBoy - have you started working too hard?? You have me worried...
I was wrong about my first tournament of 2006. It actually already happened this past Saturday. About 30 anglers battled it out for the first Showspan Lansing Lake Tank Invitational. I'll have a full report posted here later this evening along with more news to come about this exciting new 'circuit' ;D
