Title: Hey Dude...Quick Question
Post by: Cheetam on January 02, 2009, 02:12:26 PM
Ballpark figure.  Fiberglass rod, 7- 7'6", split grip, no forgrip.  I like the look of the Minima grips (pac bay?), but don't know much about them.  Alconite Guides.  Not sure if I want cork or EVA.

retail parts -
seat - 6$
alconites - 30ish w/ tip
eva will be cheapest ~5$ or cork ~8-10$

blanks... sky is the limit. Batson RX7 composite glass/graphite cranbait blanks will run in the 35-40$ range.
batson also has forecast E-glass blanks in the 15$ range.

if you're not a stickler for convention - get a spiral wrapped rod using alconites and use all size 6 single foot guides with a size 7 double foot stripper guide and bumper.... save a lot of weight on the rod and about 10$.

so for just materials- figure in the 70-80$ range + shipping.

ps - rod blank shipping is gonna be about 20$ for 7' or less and could be close to 30 for 7'6".
