Anyone use the 3.5" ? Just talked with a friend in the keys and it's the hot bait down there right now. I used a few different swimbaits this summer, all longer than this. If anyone is using the shorter swimbaits, what size hook?
I picked up a couple packs of the 3.5" size and after rigging one my hook ends up in the tail, right in front of the paddle. I tried a 5/0 Owner EWG and still a little long. The 4/0 doesn't seem to have enough throat for good hooksets, I'm a little puzzled. Anybody here use these?
I used them all summer. I caught my biggest bass of the year on the 3.5 with a 4/0 Owner. I tried them because a friend of mine bought me a pack and I busted a couple of 5 lbers in the first couple of outings and I was sold. I also used them all summer on a dropshot rig nosehooked. Awesome baits. I wish they were a little cheaper though.
What colors do you guys like?
Bill Dance was using the Money Minnow today on his show. it looks like the Berkley Hallow body. he was wacking them of course. i think he was using a 5 inch with a 6.0 weighted hook. i looked at BPS and as Rev said they are costly.
