Title: Best Fishing Video Contest
Post by: djkimmel on November 16, 2008, 08:05:19 PM
GreatLakesBass.com Best Fishing Video Contest

I know some of you have made your own fishing videos. Now that the new video upload service (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/video/upload.php) is running, how about a contest for members to pick the best fishing video uploaded by one of you within the next two weeks?

Contest starts now and runs until Sunday, November 30, 2008 at midnight. If multiple videos are uploaded, a panel of judges will vote on the top 3 for the rest of you to vote from to choose the final top video winner!

Let's make these fishing-related videos - you don't have to actually catch a fish, but at least show some fishing action or talk about fishing on the water. It doesn't have to be from this year if you have an older video you like. Your video does have to be uploaded to the GreatLakesBass.com Fishing Video Service (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/video/) to be eligible. No youtube or other links please.

Upload your video (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/video/upload.php) and make a post here announcing when you uploaded the video and the title of it.

Anyone can browse fishing videos in the order they've been uploaded using our browse page (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/video/video.php).

The winning member will receive:
1 - Versus Country camo hat
1 - set Flip Clips (http://www.flipclipfishing.com/)
1 - package Case Plastic's (http://www.caseplastics.com/) NEW salt injected 5" Magic Slim Stik in Pearl Hologram
1 - GreatLakesBass.com t-shirt of your choice from our apparel store (http://www.cafepress.com/greatlakesbass)

Let's give a 2nd place prize too - also 1 - GreatLakesBass.com t-shirt of your choice from our apparel store (http://www.cafepress.com/greatlakesbass)

Camera Guy's video of that plane crash into the water was on "Destroyed in Seconds" last night. (I think thats whos it was). Should get that on here. Benders video will be cool to watch next summer when we're all complaing of how hot it is outside.

I can't afford cameraguy's video ;D It's a hot ticket on the TV circuit. Maybe someday I'll either be able to afford it, or all the contracts and rights will wind down and he'll give me a copy... not that it would make a lot of sense on this site... but I happen to know cameraguy has a whole bunch of video in his vault if he can just get caught up and do something with it... :)

Well, this is right up my iMovie alley. I love making DVDs using iMovie and have quite a number that I have archived. I have uploaded one from a salmon fishing trip I made two years ago in August. We left early one morning out of Manisttee and caught some good eating salmon. My buddy Steve is a local Manistee County Sheriff Deputy and has lived in the area for a long time. He has taken me out for salmon and walleye. Steve's an excellant bass angler as well.
As I have mentioned before, I have an hour long DVD that I made of the BASS Federation National Championship on Lake Toho in 2007 that gives you a insiders view of that event. I would be glad to share it with anyone that would like to see it.

think you got something going here. saw this cool little video camera @ www.frontgate.com. look for mountable wireless digital video & camera. takes abt an hour of video & sound or countless stills. $200
strap it around head/hat and video away.

Pretty neat gadgets from the company. You can get wrist versions, hat versions, dash versions. Here's a good one:

GoPro Digital HERO 3 Sports Wrist Camera
Technical Details
3 megapixel all-season digital sports camera
Shoots TV quality 640x480, 30fps video (use internal or optional SD memory)
16MB of internal memory and accepts up to a 2GB SD card
Pivots upright for on the fly photos or video
Waterproof up to 100 feet

Less than $150 right now during the big sales with this:
SanDisk 2GB SD

I might have to take a closer look at these things - good variety and you don't have to have a whole crew (or your cameraguy) with you all the time to get some action for everyone to watch! Thanks for the tip bosshawg! Hope you're doing well?
