Title: 2006 regulations
Post by: rudycard72 on March 09, 2006, 08:24:36 PM
I picked up a copy of the 06-07 Michigan fishing regulations and from what i can understand of how its written it says the bass season in the lower peninsula is open from the last saturday in april untli March 15th. There is a note at the bottom that says an immediate catch and release season is from the last saturday in april until the friday before memmorial day. If I understand that correctly it is legal bass season right now until next wednesday  March 15th. Can anyone verify that this is correct?

In the past, bass season has always ended on most non-designated trout waters on December 31. I wasn't aware that had changed. It was discussed, but few people really wanted it and some were actually against an ice season for bass.

Not sure where you are seeing the March 15 date - on page 8 it still says bass season ends on December 31. If you are looking below the top right section aligned with bass, that next section below right only applies to pike and walleye just like the last skinny section on the right only applies to catfish.
