Probably cheaper than the $250 MILLION to close the canal off completely or similar action some states want the Corp to take. 'Bubbles' have been looked at recently for a number of uses. I've heard it mentioned in a few of the meetings I attend.

I really liked the idea of an underwater sonic cannon for gobies I read about a while back myself... just sounds way cooler! The bubbles are probably nuclear or maybe similar to the sonic cannon idea.

In my experience though it seems like the only thing that ever completely stops water-born invasions is a wall. A great big ole wall that water can't get over. Though humans would probably figure out a way to mess that up too as they have in getting things like these carp out of isolated ponds in the first place! Plus, there's people who just can't resist planting something somewhere else because they think it would be a good idea...
