Hey GLB Friends,
Had an opportunity to get up North last weekend, to shoot a video and do some reconnaissance on Lake Missaukee:

I would rather fish in and empty bucket full of dirty water than that lake. Have to fish it once a year and dread it.
I hear that it has really good ice fishing opportunity for Walleye, so for years I have wanted to get familiar with it. My buddy has a cabin in Irons and we usually go up to the area ice fishing once or twice a year, so I have wanted to find a lake up that way with good opportunities for walleye through the ice.
Besides that, I had primo weather and a great 1/2 day on the water!

I've done really well there ice fishing for panfish...Never have open water fished it for bass though,,
Big JC...Have you looked at Manistee lake for Ice fishing?? I hear they do pretty good there for perch and walleye and that isn't too far from Irons...
You lost me at 'lake full of pike' ... ;D though I watched the video, I will just probably pass on Missaukee as I have when I've driven by it many, many times... glad you fished it for us!

I have not considered Manistee Lake. I had no idea they had good walleye thru ice????
Probably get some lake run walleye into the lake from the big lake?
