Title: Tawas Bay
Post by: mikesmiph on September 18, 2017, 04:25:09 AM
Probably going to fish Tawas Bay on the 30th. Never fished it before. Any tips, tricks, general areas would be very helpful. I'm thinking it might fish similar to St Clair?

I have never fished that part of Lake Huron, but from Port Austin to Bay City I generally fish any rock points I can find.  I think that would hold true up there.  Same tactics at LSC should be fine, dropshot, ned, cranks, rattletraps.  Should be heating up at that time.

That's what I'm hoping.

When there's a substantial river flowing in to something I usually check that out. Fish sometimes like river mouths...

Probably should take a look at the Google satellite views of the bay too... you might see some interesting sights.

Looking at a good online nautical chart can help a little too... like this one: http://www.tawasbayweather.com/images/tawasbaychart1.pdf

I really enjoyed watching Drain the Great Lakes also.
