Post by: capt charlie's charters on September 11, 2017, 08:13:55 AM
greetings all....looking at taking a nephew out on st clair Wednesday, forecast 5 - 10 knots out of the east, wondering what I can expect wave wise.

Looks like a nice day.  For now that is.  Hopefully the Hurricane winds stay south.

WEDNESDAY...East winds 5 to 10 knots veering to the south in the
afternoon...then becoming light and variable in the evening. Mostly
cloudy early in the morning becoming partly cloudy. Waves 2 feet or
less.

Windfinder ( an app I'm finding to pretty accurate) predicts winds ene at 5mph at 8am changing to south at 8mph by 2PM.

Another app that works well for several things is the United States Coast Guard app..
On it there is a link to the weather buoys in the area for a fairly recent weather and wave observation.  For St. Clair, one can get info from the Coast Guard Station, and the Canadian buoy 4517 out in the middle of the lake.

We've had some really nice wind/wave days lately to make up for the incredibly windy spring we had, I guess.
