Title: ESPN Fantasy Bass Fishing
Post by: Cheetam on February 13, 2006, 09:51:16 PM
I wasn't sure if everyone has seen this in the Fun Contests forum, but we have created a BASS Fantasy Fishing League for the GLB Forum...Here's the details for anyone who is interested:

Go Here to register:
http://games.espn.go.com/basschallenge/bass/frontpage

Group Name: GreatLakesBass.com
Password: playhouse

You choose 5 anglers you feel will do well in each BASS tourney.  Each angler is assigned a value (For example KVD is worth 16.9).  Your 5 anglers' value cannot exceed 50.  You are awarded points each tourney based on how your team finishes.  Whomever scores the most points for the season is the big winner and gets bragging rights for an entire year...

What do you say we up the anty a little bit fellas???

How about, the guy or gal who ends up with the most points at the end of the season wins an all expenses payed trip to Las Vegas, paid for by the very generous Lt Dan Kimmel.  No, i dont think dan would like that too much.  Ok, how about a day on the lake with the very knowlegable Lt Dan Kimmel.  Maybe if we ask real nice, he will agree.

hey guys are we supposed to pick our team now or what?  When we pick the team is it just for the first tourney or is it for the whole year?  I haven't done this one before.

pick em now, or pick em later.  just make sure you make the deadline.  You can pick new guys every tournament.  as long as you have 5 and there market value does not exceed 50 points combined.

I like the idea of a fishing trip with me - but the winner has to take me to his/her best lake and show me all the hotspots!!! ;D

did you actually go in and register for an account?

If so, then maybe the login is case sensitive.

Other than that, you might just have to go back in and re register with different information.

If Lt. Dan cant pony up with a fishing trip I will give a case of bar-b-que flavored Vienna Sausages and an empty tin of Kodiak to the winner. Not just any tin, but one of the new 75th anniversary tin. I will even get poorboy to sign it.

What kind of side pot would everyone be interested in?  I wouldn't mind getting in on something (it's always more fun when there is a "prize" of some sort).  Let's see a couple suggestions and see if we can't agree on something before tomorrow...I'll start.

Suggestion #1.  A prize pack.
Each participating person donates an item or items to the pot worth (insert value here).  For example if we set the limit at $5, I would donate a pack of GYB soft plastics.  At the end of the season, the person with the most points wins the prize pack.  To claim it, we all meet at a mutually agreed upon location, present the prize pack to the winner, and then have a good time telling fishing stories, drinking pops, etc...

As i stated before I will kick in a case of Vienna Sausages. You may laugh about this, but there is no better boat food on the market. Put them in the cooler and take um out about 1/2 hour before you want to eat them. The sun warms up the jelly in them very nice.

I will kick in some goodies for the pot.  Anybody need a dock lock or a few back issues of Bass Digest???  ;D  Inside joke!  Cheetam???

A side pot sounds fine, I'll also pass on the little weenies. I'll donate spinnerbaits to drool over.
Maybe we should have the guy with the fewest points download to us all those GPS way points he's had stored for years......

When you create team, you will have a link called "Change/Add Anglers".  Click on that and it will give you a list of all the anglers and their value.  Hope this helps...

Thanks, I found that link and got my guys picked. This looks like fun. Wasn't quite sure of what to do with the tie breaker. Checked the points out for limits, weight etc. but wasn't quite sure even yet if I interpreted the info correctly. Oh well it was the tiebreaker and the total tournaments can be changed as I get a better feel.

Just picked my team for the Lone Star. Had to pick early going to camp with a bunch of sixth graders for a week. Maybe see some of you at the Grand Rapids Show.

Watch out Dale. Got a hot team picked!
