Title: Huge Broomtail Grouper and lots of Marlin - Quepos Report
Post by: GringoJohn on December 22, 2016, 10:16:37 AM
Inshore fishing has been crazy good here with lots of big school of sardines running up and down the coast pulling all the fish out of their caves and rivers.  Check out this huge BroomTail Grouper from last week:

In addition to the gruoper, there have been lots of snook around lately too inshore:

And of course there are always roosterfish around

Offshore has finally started picking up again for the season.  The offshore was a bit slower after the hurricane in November, but finally yesterday we started seeing good fish again. Yesterday Junior released a pair of nice Marlin, 6 dorado and 2 yellow fin tuna.

I have zero idea how saltwater fishing works. Are you trolling for those? Do you keep any of those in the pictures that you catch? I know tuna is tasty, but whatabout the rest?

I don't think so.

Don't know what they are doing for sure but inshore is more often casting while offshore is more often trolling especially for the big ones like marlin.
