well i went again today for the second day in a row. only 4 cars at the launch today so i loaded up after i put on my "rain suit" -caught more rain than it kept off- and headed out to a big shelf that was close to the launch, no luck, went over to the island and did some exploring and was surprised how far out from shore the flats went. usually can't fish it as the skiers like to ski through there, while there something was busting on top during the downpour so i cast a sexy shad rattle bait towards the commotion and got a 21 pike, next cast a smaller bass and than next cast i lost another bass also. 3 in a row!! than i hit the banks along Quaker haven and caught a 25" northern buried in the bullrushes! on a jig made by lockjawjigs.com. unfortunately i lost that jig to a toothy critter later, still a good day
Good report Karol. Catching in adverse weather is better than not !!! lol
The benefit of the weather is you got to fish spots you don't normally get to fish. I use to like gray, light drizzle days on Lake St. Clair when most of the tuna boats were off the river and I could fish lots of shallow spots for even big bass that weren't getting pushed around by boat wakes.
