Since the new season. Has anyone been on the mile roads yet, are the fish in close to shore? Or are they still staged in deep water?
Not me but guys are saying they are catching 200 a day. Thats 1 every 3 minutes for 10 hours. That sounds like good fishing. Should be great by the DK in 3 weeks.
fished last Sunday...only 1 for me...
We caught 54 in two hours today my dad and I. On Wed three of us probably caught 100 plus in 3 hours. Fish were tight to shore chewing everything but JB the best
Just got back from a 4 day trip. Tues me and Jeff RAgina boated well over 400 smallies. We lost count at 350 and caught an estimated 75 after that. Best 5 went 25 1/4. Wednesday over 100 again quality improved some. Thurs fished a few hours only 12 the strong south east winds dirtied everything up. Today Marc Dehollander met up with me and we got 125 best 5 just under 25 pounds but quality was good for us. we probably had 35 that went 4 pounds or better. Marc got our biggest at 5-7.
Jealousy has officially set in. I WILL go fishing today somewhere and I WILL catch fish!!!

What were the water temps?
I fished Clair on Friday. Caught around 30 smallmouth. Best 5 went close to 19 pounds. Water temps were 52 to 58. I'm sure the rain and wind this week will make Clair very muddy.
I'm heading out to the mile roads. For my first time out this season, with BigDog. Should be a blast. I will be putting fresh line on my reels tonight. I've seen some nice pictures so far this season . It ' s time to wash some baits.
I fished yesterday on the mile roads. Water temp started around 49-50 and end up around 54-55. The water was as clear as I've ever seen it. Took us a while to find em but once we did we got into a bun. Caught 40 or so smallies, 1 nice largemouth, a handful of muskies and 1 sheephead. Many on rattletraps but then that bite would die down and they'd want dropshots or tubes.
Caught a handful of 4+ fish, so I'm guessing the best 5 would have been in the 20-22lb range. It was pretty fun because we had them figured out and all the boats around us could only watch. It was a small area of activity. Fish were moving up shallow as the sun warmed the water.
We spent our day in Anchor Bay, but ended up on Masonic around 3:00. The water was 60 when we got there, and clearer than I have ever seen there. We had a good day, best 5 went almost 26 pounds.
