Title: BASS/ESPN
Post by: dashaver63 on July 07, 2011, 09:38:12 AM
Did I miss something? When did BASS and ESPN split? Or was it part of the sale of BASS last fall? Maybe I should pay more attention to these things.

Boy! Did you!?! Last November the sale was final. Early this year, the websites split apart. JM Associates took over all taping at the Classic in February. Then, this spring they bought the taping crew too so now the three owners of B.A.S.S. (they also went back to the old naming convention) - Jim Copeland, Jerry McKinnis and Don Logan - own the whole show from top to bottom now. Lots of changes.

You should probably keep up on the GreatLakesBass.com Tournament News (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/tournaments/) and Bass Fishing News (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/news/) more often ;D

I knew about the sale and all that, but it wasn't until just recently that the ESPN website no longer had a link to the BASS website. Also, I see there is still somewhat of a TV schedule on ESPN2. I'm just confused about the whole deal.

They are still showing Bassmasters on ESPN and also later on The Outdoor Channel now. There has been an announcement earlier this year about the new website.
